Selah Notes is built by a small non-profit team. We'll do our best to help — and most answers are below.

The app walks you through this on first launch. Go to Settings → Focus → tap + to create a new Focus called "Church" → set it to silence all notifications. Then in the Shortcuts app, create an automation: when "Church" Focus turns on → open Selah Notes. You can revisit this setup anytime in Selah Notes → Settings → Revisit Focus mode setup.
Go to Settings → Accessibility → Guided Access and turn it on. Then go to Settings → Accessibility → Accessibility Shortcut and select Guided Access. Once set up, triple-click your side button to enable it when starting a session. In Selah Notes, go to Settings → Distraction Blocking to enable the Guided Access prompt at session start.
First check that notifications are enabled in your iPhone Settings → Notifications → Selah Notes. Then check in the app under Settings → Notifications that the relevant days are toggled on. Notifications are scheduled locally when you end a session — make sure you've completed at least one session by tapping "Done" on the Post-Session screen.
Enable iCloud sync in Selah Notes → Settings → Storage. Your notes will sync across all your Apple devices signed into the same Apple ID via CloudKit. Selah Notes cannot access your notes — they sync directly between your devices using Apple's infrastructure.
As you type during a session, Selah Notes automatically detects Bible references — both full names ("Romans 8:28") and common abbreviations ("Rom 8:28", "Ps 23"). Detected references are underlined in terracotta as you write. After your session, these are saved and browsable in the Sermon Bank under "By Reference."
The passage viewer requires an internet connection and uses bible-api.com to fetch text. Check you're connected to the internet. If you entered an abbreviated passage (e.g. "Rom 8") try the full reference ("Romans 8"). Some less common references may not be found — in that case, use the "Open in Bible app" button to view it in your preferred Bible app instead.
Yes — open any sermon in the Reflection view and tap the share icon in the top-right corner. This generates a PDF of your notes and opens the iOS share sheet, where you can save it, email it, or share it however you like.
Yes, completely free. No subscription, no premium tier, no ads. Selah Notes is a non-profit app built because we believe spiritual tools shouldn't be monetised. There is no catch. If you find it useful and want to support its continued development, you can make an optional donation at selahnotes.org/donate — but it's entirely voluntary.
